Known Issues and WorkaroundsXuvTools 1.8.0 Win64: dll path corruptionIn rare cases, the installation of XuvTools-1.8.0 on Win64 can trigger the Windows mechanism “reflection” (see here for details) to redirect the registry keys to be written in the wrong (32bit instead of 64bit) node. If in addition the same registry keys exist under the correct (64bit) node, one might supersede the other. This can lead to the wrong path being set, when XuvTools is searching for DLLs during startup, making XuvTools not find the Java 'jvm.dll'. This typically is indicated by the error message: The Application failed to start because 'jvm.dll' could not be found Thanks to Michael Gähwiler for spotting the bug and isolating the cause. To solve the issue, uninstall XuvTools, then download and import the following Registry file to clean all previous XuvTools registry keys, then install XuvTools again: XuvTools-1.8.0_Remove-JRE-Keys.reg for cleaning XuvTools-1.8.0 Java JRE registry path setting. |
